Amortization Deduction Calculation

This program can be used to calculate your amortization schedule for qualified reforestation (aforestation) expenses. The information you will need to run this program is a brief description of the reforestation expenditure (i.e., seedlings, herbicide, labor, etc..),the amount spent, and the amount of any cost share payment that you received or expect to receive to offset some of the reforestation expenses. Round all numbers to the nearest dollar (For example, $1234.56 would be entered as 1235).

Cost-share Payments:

Generally the amount, if any, for which you have been reimbursed or expect to be reimbursed for your reforestation expenses under a government cost-share program does not qualify for the reforestation investment tax credit and amortization. However, if you elect not to exclude the cost-share payment from ordinary income, then your total reforestation expenses (up to the specific limitations) will qualify. (cost-share payments)
